Will adding these slow down my website?

Adding custom tooling can slow down your website if done incorrectly, however a lot of the time using custom apps generates faster code than using generic plugins as they are slimmed down and more focused.

We have experience in creating interactive elements that implement best practices when it comes to performance, reliability, scale and speed.

Do I need to host the apps separately?

Most of the time, the apps and widgets can live on the current site's infrastructure with minimal impact. Vue.js uses JavaScript (like all browsers) and can be implemented easily. WordPress PHP lives either in the theme files or the WordPress files that already get used by WordPress.

There are some occassions where creating a separate hosted tool is helpful, but this would be outlined when we discuss what is required.

Who owns the code?

Like with the websites we create - you own the code.

On final payment of the invoice, the code is there to be done with however you see fit. There are no catches involved, and on handing-over the finished apps it will be outlined what maintenance may be required. We will still have the code on our systems in case you wanted changes made, or you want the files sent over again, but it will be yours.

What happens if the apps or widgets break?

First port-of-call is getting in touch with us so we can figure out what the issue may be. Depending on what the fix may be, there may be an hourly-rate service charge to diagnose the issue and create a fix.

If the app/widget is new (within a month of final payment), there will likely not be a charge as long as the fault was down to the code (rather than human error).
